Welcome to the website of saxophonist and information technology consultant Marco Chelo. Born In Milan and raised in Rome, Marco moved to New York in 1995. Marco's eclectic backgorund includes extensive travel to many countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, The Caribbean and South America.
As an information Technology consultant Marco has worked with Fortune 500 companies, non profit organizations and small businesses. As a musician and music lover Marco Chelo has studied with, played, and collaborated in various projects with international Musicians such as Fela Kuti. Marc Mommaaas, Mike Longo, Clifford Jordan, Joe Solomon and many others. In 2009 Marc Mommaas and Marco Chelo founded the New York Jazz Workshop, an organization dedicated to promoting affordable jazz education in New York City.
While in Rome, Marco studied privately with Tenor Saxophonists Pierpaolo Iacopini, Mario Raja and David Keberle, and played for several years with the big band of the “Scuola Popolare di Musica Di Testaccio,” lead by trombonist and composer Danilo Terenzi.. |
As partner at a web development agency called Online Development and Marketing, Marco Chelo managed clients and vendors and supervised in-house, as well as off shore, programmers and designers. |
